The Tawaki Project (part 1)
The first in a series of four short films to promote the work of The Tawaki Project. I joined Dr Thomas Mattern, Ursula Ellenberg and the team for a week at their field site in Milford Sound, New Zealand, hoping to uncover new details about the elusive Fiordland crested penguin - one of the world’s least-understood seabirds. Challenging logistics and almost constant torrential rain made this a particularly difficult shoot, but the moments when everything came together made up for all the hardship.
(the other episodes can be viewed on my YouTube channel, and the natural history footage is available to license)
